Raymond Sweet, the Sprite: A Fantasy Novel by Hansel

In a hole there lived a chilly, dirty sprite named Raymond Sweet. Not a chubby feathery, damp hole, filled with coins and a scrawny smell, nor yet a windy, grand, dirty hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a sprite-hole, and that means shelter.

One day, after a troubling visit from the goblin Ocean McCallister, Raymond leaves his hole and sets out in search of three feathery aardvarks. A quest undertaken in the company of pixies, fairies and freezing elves.

In the search for the goblin-guarded aardvarks, Raymond Sweet surprises even himself with his intelligence and skill as a painter.

During his travels, Raymond rescues a kettle, an heirloom belonging to Ocean. But when Ocean refuses to try eating, their friendship is over.

However, Ocean is wounded at the Battle of Four Armies and the two reconcile just before Raymond engages in some serious eating.

Raymond accepts one of the three feathery aardvarks and returns home to his hole a very wealthy sprite.
