The Curse of the Squidgy Knife: A Horror Story by Hansel

Whilst investigating the death of a local computer programmer, a witty homemaker called James Barker uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, squidgy knife circulating throughout Wales. As soon as anyone uses the knife, he or she has exactly 28 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look shrunken. A marked person feels like a spiky fox to touch.

James gets hold of the knife, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a fluffy rabbit balancing on a happy computer programmer, an old newspaper headline about a fang accident, a hooded koala ranting about eyes and a drinking well located in an old-fashioned place.

When James notices his fingers have fox-like properties, he realizes that the curse of the squidgy knife is true and calls in his aunt, a police officer called Doris Barlow, to help.

Doris examines the knife and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the fluffy rabbit balancing on a happy computer programmer particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.

James and Doris pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded koala. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
